Denver Bus Accident Involves 33 Students – Denver Personal Injury Attorney

According to the Denver Post, a school bus carrying 33 young students from grades 6 thru 12 collided with another vehicle and sent several to a nearby hospital. The incident occurred at the intersection of East Illiff Avenue and South Emporia Street. The woman of the vehicle had to be extracted from her car and taken to a local hospital for further observation. Ten students were transported to the hospital and were released shortly after being treated for their minor injuries. The Denver Police Department is still unsure of which vehicle caused the accident and will continue the investigation.

On average 24 school-aged children die in school transportation accidents each year according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has been trying to reduce these numbers by providing students with the proper education needed to ensure their safety, while also pushing to have seat belts installed in every bus.
